Home. profile1A warm welcome to my website

I am a fully qualified and experienced 51 year old clinical psychotherapist, registered with the BACP - the leading body for the profession of counselling and psychotherapy in the UK.

Before embarking on my psychotherapy training I trained and qualified as a counsellor; hence, whilst I am first and foremost a clinical psychotherapist, I also offer counselling, in Cheltenham and London.

I work face-to-face, by telephone and with Skype.

As well as my private practice, I have held practising privileges as a psychotherapist ( June 2014 - June 2016 ) at The Priory Hospital, Roehampton , and a consultancy role at the The Maudsley Hospital for the Mental Health in Sport Conference (2014). I am currently involved with the The Professional Cricketers Association as a mentor to past and present professional cricketers.

My Philosophy: I profoundly believe we can all heal, grow and develop when the therapist has the ability and expertise to attune to our individual experience.

Moreover, I feel that we experience episodes in our lives when we could all benefit from professional psychological help.

My Experience : I have over 20 years experience working with groups and individuals, children, adolescents and adults, in an educational, coaching and developmental capacity in a wide range of settings including: schools, hospitals, community centres, clubs and NHS affiliated environments.

Furthermore, I have worked with a therapeutic team in Wandsworth, South London, which works in collaboration with a number of GP surgeries in the local community. As well as working therapeutically one-to-one, I was also responsible for delivering mental health assessments to the NHS patients who passed through the service.

My Training: involved 5 years intensive 'core' training at The Minster Centre - the leading and pioneering training institute for Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling in the UK and Europe. As part of my continual journey of self-development and clinical expertise I am committed to ongoing CPD, as well as the process of updating my therapeutic skills to maintain my professional standards.

My Private Practice: I have clinics in Cheltenham and London.

My Approach: I am an integrative relational therapist and my clinical model is informed by the latest neuroscientific research. I offer a non-dogmatic, bespoke service, using an eclectic range of therapeutic approaches to fit your individual needs - although the quality of the relationship remains the heartbeat of the work we do together.

I work holistically at the interface between mind and body, as a therapist, counsellor and mentor. Hence, I offer:

  • counselling:
  • this is generally short-term, goal orientated work (6 - 12 sessions)which aims to provide symptom relief, reduction and management.

  • psychotherapy:
  • this is more open-ended work which is in-depth and focuses on the root causes of the emotional and psychological difficulties. It works towards long-term healing and transformation.

  • mentoring/coaching:
  • this work focuses on the pursuit of excellence, achieving goals and peak performance. I use a three dimensional approach: a combination of my own experience as a professional cricketer, sport psychology from my first degree and my training as a therapist and counsellor to help people thrive in pressurised, high achieving and dynamic environments and work effectively in teams.

Some of the issues I work with are:

addiction - depression - anxiety - obsessive compulsive disorder - panic attacks - relationship issues - trauma - bereavement and loss - redundancy - divorce/separation - mid-life crisis - eating disorders - low self esteem - sexual problems - anger management - stress
